The Nightingale and the Rose

A romantic opera based on the short story by

Oscar Wilde

Overhearing a student’s heartsick lament of unrequited love from her nest, a nightingale decides that she will find the one object that will save the day: a single red rose. However, there is no red rose tree in the garden and only the deadly sacrifice of her heart’s blood, procured though song, can summon one.
