I. The Divine Image
II. Holy Thursday
III. The Garden of Love
IV. The Abstract Human
This work sets four poems by William Blake from his timeless collection Songs of Innocence and Experience. Each movement explores its text in a different way, giving rise to a colorful and exuberant work with occasional influences from the choral works of Benjamin Britten.
'Settings of Innocence and Experience' is ideal for a choral concert containing such works as Britten's Hymn to St Cecilia, Rejoice in the Lamb, or as an anthem for choral evensong.
